The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced a twenty-five percent reduction in transport fares for government-owned transport schemes. The Governor made the announcement on Thursday during a live media chat.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the move is part of efforts to reduce the economic burden on Lagosians.
“We started something last year from August when we had a 50% reduction on all public transportation,” the governor said.
“It was stopped towards the end of the years when things resumed back but now I think transport cost is a major thing for our citizens.
The former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has called on youths in the country to participate in the 2023 general election. Saraki while speaking at a luncheon to mark the Independence Day anniversary said youths should be involved in politics as the country has not gotten the right leaders.

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello has confirmed the death of two soldiers following an attack by bandit terrorists in Kagara. Apart from those who lost their lives, many others also sustained varying degrees of injury and are currently receiving treatment at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Specialist Hospital, Minna.
Those who need more special treatments have been transferred to Kaduna State for better medical care.
